Chris Gelke

Chris is a 21 year old senior at the University of St. Thomas (in St. Paul, MN) where he is majoring in Political Science, History, and International Studies. Chris grew up close to his family and was very involved in his local community, both in his home state of New York and his new home state of Minnesota. His interest in world history began as a child and grew while studying abroad in Italy. There, he learned a lot about the history of the Roman Catholic Church, saw many historical sites, and enjoyed lots of pizza, pasta, and gelato. While he continues his education, he is enrolled in a well-rounded liberal arts curriculum that will prepare him well for a career in a variety of professional fields. His proficiency in Spanish, which he will receive a minor in, as well as French, is an additional skill that will prove critical in our modern and greatly interconnected world. In Spring 2014, Chris Gelke will graduate with honors (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of St. Thomas and is looking forward to a meaningful career where he can make a difference in the world. When he is not busy reading about current events or history, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He also is a fan of trying new kinds of restaurants around the Twin Cities. He is also a big soccer fan, supporting Minnesota United and Tottenham Hotspur, and spends way too much time on fantasy sports (and he is improving!). Chris also enjoys movies and attending theater and opera performances around the Twin Cities. Chris lives at home with his close family and pet cat and dog. He works as a Tour Guide at St. Thomas Admissions.
